The Trustees:

Sheila Parsonson MBE - Trustee and our original founder who set up the charity in 1974 together with the late George Charles. She was awarded the MBE in the Queen's Golden Jubilee Honours in 2002 for her services to animal welfare. Sheila has not been in such good health since summer 2004. However, she celebrated her 80th birthday in May 2006 with a party in the Sanctuary grounds.

Sandra Brett - a Trustee since 1996, Sandra is responsible for co-ordinating the overall running of our Charity Shop at Wivenhoe, where she works every Saturday, and some Tuesdays/Fridays. She also organises the stalls, refreshments etc for our Open Day, Cheese and Wine evening, and Christmas Fayre, and helps with evening feeding.

Mandy Carrington-Moule - a Trustee since September 2000, Mandy is responsible for the site maintenance and gardening of the Sanctuary's large grounds, and with general administration of the Charity, including the microchipping/homing records, our Friends Club, Lottery Club, emails/website. She does rehoming on Saturdays.

Patricia Downer - a Trustee from September 2006 and our welfare officer who is at the Sanctuary every Mon/Thurs, working closely with the vets. She monitors the cats' general welfare and helps with rehoming. She also does follow up calls to anyone rehoming a cat/kitten.

These are our current management team but we have a devoted band of volunteers who help with running the large site at the Sanctuary in Bromley Road and the Charity Shop in Wivenhoe.

Without the hard work, kindness and generosity of our helpers we would not be able to achieve as much as we do.

They include Mary and Eric Shaw who run our Sponsor A Cat scheme, and Judith Sibley who is the membership secretary of our Lottery Club and also Friends of Colchester Cat Rescue, also Nigel Sibley who produces our stationery, eg. our information leaflets, etc

In Colchester, go north up Harwich Road, turning right at the mini roundabout into Bromley Road and follow the road for about one mile out into the country. We are next door to a garden centre called Blenheim Nurseries.

From the A12 take the A1232 (Colchester North) turn off. Go down Ipswich Road to the Rovers Tye roundabout and turn left into St John's Rd. Follow this road to the end and turn right at the mini roundabout into Harwich Rd. A hundred metres down Harwich Rd there is a mini roundabout, turn left into Bromley Rd and continue for about one mile as mentioned above.
